If you have a pencil stain on your kimono don't panic! With right tools and techniques, you can successfully remove pencil stains from any fabric.
What You'll Need
- Cloth, sponge or brush
- Cleaning spray
- Cold water
Step-by-Step Guide to Cleaning Pencil Stains
- To begin, mix 2 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid with 1 gallon of cold water.
- Dampen a cloth, sponge or brush in the mixture and lightly dab or scrub the stained area.
- Rinse stained area of kimono with cold water.
- If pencil stain is still visible, spray the area with a cleaning solution.
- Continue to blot or scrub stain with a clean cloth or damp sponge until the stain is gone.
- Allow the kimono to air dry or use a blow dryer on a low setting.
Additional Tips for Removing Pencil Stains
- Be sure to test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before using.
- If the stain remains, repeat Steps 2–5 until stain is completely gone.
- For tougher stains, try a laundry detergent or rubbing alcohol.
