Gather Your Materials
Before beginning the cleaning process, make sure you have all the necessary materials: white vinegar, warm water, a soft cloth, and a cotton swab.
Instructions
- Using the soft cloth, dampen the fabric where the pencil stain is located. Make sure it is only slightly damp.
- Mix two parts white vinegar with one part warm water to create a solution.
- Using soft cloth, apply the solution to the pencil stain.
- Allow solution to sit on the stain for 5 minutes.
- Using the soft cloth and gentle strokes, scrub the pencil stain.
- Dampen the cotton swab with some of the solution and lightly dab it on the stained area.
- Keep repeating steps 5 and 6 until the stain is gone.
- Once the stain is removed, rinse fabric with clean water.
- Allow the fabric to air dry.
Additional Tips
- If the stain does not come out right away, do not be discouraged. It may take multiple attempts to get the stain out.
- Rubbing alcohol can also be used in addition to the vinegar solution.
- If the fabric is delicate or dry-clean only, take it to the cleaners rather than attempting to clean it yourself.
