Pencil stains are one of worst for clothing, as it's sometimes difficult to get a grip on them - but not impossible! Here are three ways that you can clean up any pencil or graphite stains from your garments.

Method 1: Dish Soap and Water

The first and easiest way is to utilize a small amount of dish soap, a toothbrush, and some warm water to get job done. Simply apply a small drop of dish soap to the stained area, then take your toothbrush and dab it in with a few drops of warm water. Make sure not to scrub too hard, as it may cause fabric of your jumper to start fraying. Once the soap has been worked into stain, let the detergent rest for at least five minutes before rinsing with a damp cloth and warm water. Finally, you can launder your jumper as normal.

Method 2: White Vinegar

Another great method to remove tougher pencil stains is white vinegar. Start by soaking your jumper in a bowl of white vinegar for up to 30 minutes. Then, take a soft-bristled toothbrush or cloth and start rubbing the stained area. You may need to repeat this process several times depending on the severity of the stain. Once the stain has been removed, rinse the garment with cold water and launder as usual.

Method 3: Rubbing Alcohol

If all else fails, rubbing alcohol can come to rescue. Apply a small amount directly onto the stained area with a clean cloth, and then use the cloth to rub gently. You can also use a cotton swab dipped in the rubbing alcohol for a more precise application. Be sure to not over-soak and risk damaging fabric. Once all the stains have been removed, rinse with cold water and launder as usual.

With these three simple methods, you'll never have to worry about those pesky pencil stains again! Your jumpers will look as good as new in no time.
