Guipure lace, also known as “bobbin lace,” is a type of lace made by interlacing threads in an intricate pattern. It is a delicate and fragile fabric, so it is important to treat it with care. Guipure lace is often used for making garments, such as dresses and blouses.
Take a damp cloth and a mild soap. Gently scrub stained area, taking care not to damage the delicate fibers of the lace. If the stain is particularly large or stubborn, you may need to repeat this step several times.
Once the stain has been removed, rinse the lace under cold running water. Gently press fabric between your fingers to help remove any remaining soap residue. Then hang the lace up to air dry.
Once lace is dry, it's time to whiten the fabric. Use a diluted solution of chlorine bleach to lighten any stubborn discolorations. Soak the lace in bleach solution for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Finally, hang the lace up to air dry once again.
