Gingham is a timelessly classic fabric, and it can often be seen in both modern and vintage designs. You'll need to gather a few simple items for this project: a clean white rag, liquid dish soap, a toothbrush, and a hydrogen peroxide cleaning solution.
Mix a few drops of the liquid dish soap with a small amount of lukewarm water, then dab the mixture onto the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes. Then, using toothbrush, gently scrub the area to loosen the pencil mark.
Apply hydrogen peroxide cleaning solution directly to the stain, making sure that you do not soak the fabric. Use a clean white rag to gently scrub the stain until it begins to fade or disappear. Allow the fabric to air dry and check if stain is still visible. If so, repeat steps 2 and 3 until stain is no longer visible.
If you follow these steps, you'll find that those pesky pencil stains are easily removed from your gingham fabric. With a little bit of elbow grease, your favourite gingham pieces can look as good as new!
