Removing Pencil Stains from Flip Flops

  1. Start by wetting your flip flops with lukewarm water and rubbing a mild detergent in the areas where there is a pencil stain.
  2. Leave the detergent to work in the stain for a few minutes, then gently rub it in circles with your fingers or a soft cloth.
  3. If stain is still visible, mix a small amount of baking soda and water together in a bowl until it creates a paste, then apply this on top of the stain.
  4. Leave baking soda paste to dry for roughly 15 minutes before wiping it off with a damp cloth.
  5. If the stain is still present, repeat steps 1 and 2 until it has disappeared.
  6. Once the stain has been removed, wipe away any remaining soap residue and thoroughly dry the flip flops with a clean towel.

Tips to Keep Pencil Stains away from Flip Flops

  • Keep pencils and markers off surfaces where you may be walking, such as desks and floors. This will reduce the chances of accidentally stepping in a pen stain.
  • Store pencils upright in holders or containers to assure that they won’t roll onto the floor.
  • Wash your feet after coming in contact with a pencil stain, to ensure that stain doesn't spread.
