Materials You'll Need

  • Water
  • Laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Soft cloth or sponge

Step 1: Blot The Stain

Take a soft cloth and gently blot the stain until no more ink is coming off. If the stain is still visible, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Soak The Stain

Mix together two cups of warm water, one tablespoon of laundry detergent, and one tablespoon of white vinegar. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the mixture and then dab the stain. Let the fabric soak for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse The Stain

Take the stained area and rinse it with cool water. Make sure to thoroughly rinse away all of the detergent and vinegar mixture.

Step 4: Wash The Area

Once the stain is gone, wash the affected area with cold water. Use your regular laundry detergent and follow the instructions on the label for best results.

Step 5: Air-Dry The Fabric

Once you have finished washing the fabric, hang it up to air-dry. Do not put it in the dryer, as this can cause the stain to set in and make it much harder to remove.

Conclusion

Removing pencil stains from your evening gown doesn't have to be hard. Just follow these five simple steps and you'll be back to looking stylish in no time.
