Down jackets are the perfect way to stay warm when the weather gets colder. However, these jackets can quickly become a mess if you’re not careful. Pencil marks are one of the most common stains that can occur on down jackets, and can be a challenge to clean.

Fortunately, there’s an easy method you can use to get rid of those pesky pencil stains from your down jacket. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Cotton swab
  • Warm water
  • Mild detergent

Start by using the cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to lightly rub the pencil mark. Don’t press too hard - this could damage the fabric. Just let the alcohol soak into the stain. After a few seconds, wipe off any excess alcohol with a dry cloth.

Once the pencil mark has been removed, mix some warm water with a mild detergent and use it to spot-clean the area where the pencil mark was. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes, then rinse it off with cool water. Wipe away any excess water and allow the jacket to air-dry.

That’s all there is to it! With this simple method, you can easily remove pencil marks from your down jacket and keep it looking like new.
