What you Need

  • A bucket of warm water
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Baking soda
  • Cotton swabs

Step One: Pre-Treat

First, you'll need to pre-treat coverall to help break down the pencil stain. In a bowl or bucket, mix a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid with warm water. Dip a cotton swab into the mixture, then rub it over the pencil stain. Let this sit for five minutes.

Step Two: Soak

Once you've pre-treated the stain, it's time to soak the coverall. Fill a large bucket with warm water and two tablespoons of baking soda. Place the coverall in the bucket, and let it soak for 10 minutes.

Step Three: Wash

After the coverall has soaked, it's time to give it a gentle wash. Remove the coverall from the bucket and place it in the washing machine. Select a gentle cycle and use cold water. Avoid using hot water as this could set stain and make it harder to remove.

Step Four: Dry

Once the coverall has been washed, it's time to dry it. Avoid using any type of heat to dry coverall as this could cause wrinkling or worse, shrink it. Instead, hang it up in a warm, well-ventilated area to dry naturally.

Conclusion

Pencil stains may seem like a challenge to remove, but with the right products and process, they can be easily cleaned. With a few simple steps, you can have your coveralls looking as good as new in no time!
