The simplest and safest way to clean pencil stains on cotton seersucker is to first apply a few drops of liquid dish soap onto the stained area. Gently rub the soap into the stain with a damp cloth, then blot with a dry cloth. If stain is still visible, repeat the process as needed. Once pencil stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water and air dry.
If the stain is still visible after trying the soap and water technique, you can use a mixture of white vinegar and water. Combine 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water in a container, dip a cloth into solution, and gently rub it into the pencil stain. Let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes before blotting with a cloth and then rinsing with cold water. Finish by air drying.
For more stubborn stains, you may need to try a combination of rubbing alcohol and liquid dish soap. Mix equal parts of each together, apply it to the stained area, and gently rub it in with a damp cloth. After a few minutes, rinse with cold water and air dry. Repeat the process as needed until the pencil stain is completely gone.
