Whether it’s a shirt, dress, or other fabric item, pencil stains are not something that you want to leave in your closet forever. The good news is that with some simple steps, you can get rid of pencil stains on your cotton piqué fabric quickly and easily.

Step 1: Gather Supplies

The first step to removing pencil stains from cotton piqué is gathering all of the supplies you will need. This includes a cup of cold water, a laundry detergent, a soft-bristled brush, and a clean cloth.

Step 2: Pre-Treat Stain

Once you have gathered your supplies, it’s time to pre-treat the stain. Start by dabbing the stain with a clean cloth soaked in cold water. Make sure to avoid scrubbing or rubbing the stain as this can cause it to spread.

Step 3: Apply Detergent

Once you’ve blotted out as much of the pencil stain as possible, it’s time to apply the laundry detergent. Dab a generous amount of detergent onto the stained area. Use a soft-bristled brush to work the detergent into fabric in a circular motion.

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat

Once you’ve worked the detergent into the fabric, rinse the area with cold water. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 2 to 4. Once the stain is gone, launder your garment as usual.

By following these four steps, you can easily remove pencil stains from your cotton piqué fabric. With a little bit of work, you’ll have your garment looking brand new in no time!
