If you're dealing with pencil stains on Cornelli lace, the first step is to avoid using water and detergent. These two things can be too harsh on this delicate fabric, and may actually cause more damage than the stain! Instead, opt for a gentle, spot-cleaning method.

Materials Needed:

  • Soft cloth
  • Rubbing alcohol or white vinegar
  • Old toothbrush

Instructions:

  1. Using a soft cloth, dab the stained area of the Cornelli lace with rubbing alcohol or white vinegar.
  2. Allow the liquid to sit for a few minutes, so it can start to dissolve the pencil lead.
  3. Using an old toothbrush, gently brush away pencil mark. Be sure to be careful and use gentle strokes, so you don't damage the fabric.
  4. Once pencil has been removed, rinse the area with cold water. Then use a clean cloth to dab away any excess liquid.
  5. Allow your Cornelli lace to air dry. Do not put it in the dryer, as this could damage the fabric.

With these easy steps, your Cornelli lace should be looking as good as new in no time!
