Before you try to remove pencil stains from your Chantilly lace, you’ll want to gather all of the equipment you need. This includes:
Once you have gathered all of your materials, start by taking a clean, soft cloth and blotting up any excess graphite. Do not rub the cloth back and forth to try and remove the stain, as this could make stain worse.
Next, create a soapy solution by mixing a few drops of mild soap (such as Ivory or dish-washing soap) into lukewarm water. Swirl the mixture around until it is well mixed, then soak the stained part of the lace for about 15 minutes. Afterward, rinse the lace with plain lukewarm water.
If the stain persists after soaking and rinsing, take a clean cloth and dab it in some white vinegar. Gently dab the area with the stained cloth a few times until the stain fades away.
If the stain still doesn’t disappear, try using rubbing alcohol. Take a clean cloth and dampen it with the alcohol, then dab at stained area. Keep doing this until stain has been removed or faded significantly.
Finally, if none of the previous steps have worked, you can try using a flatiron. Set the flatiron to a low setting and press it up against the stained area for about 10 seconds. Make sure to move the flatiron in a circular motion to avoid melting the Chantilly lace.
And there you have it! With these five easy steps, you can easily remove pencil marks from your Chantilly lace without damaging the fabric.
