Step 1: Scrape Away Residue

Use a soft-bristled brush or toothbrush to scrape away any remaining pieces of the stain. Make sure to use gentle strokes and avoid rubbing or scrubbing too hard in order to prevent damaging the fine threads of the brocade fabric.

Step 2: Blot with a Dry Cloth

Once you’ve scraped away as much of the residue as possible, take a dry cloth or paper towel and carefully dab the stained area. This will help to draw out any remaining pigment or oils that may be present in the stain.

Step 3: Treat with a Stain Remover

Using a commercial stain remover or a solution of one part dish soap and one part hydrogen peroxide, gently apply the cleaning agent to the affected area and allow it to sit for several minutes. Once the solution has had time to penetrate into the fabric, take a damp cloth and gently rub the stain in a circular motion to lift the pigment away.

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat

Be sure to rinse the cleaning solution away thoroughly and then repeat Steps 3 and 4 as needed until the stain is gone. For stubborn stains, you can use an old toothbrush to work stain remover deeper into the fabric before rinsing.

Step 5: Air Dry

Gently blot any excess moisture with a clean cloth and then leave the fabric to air dry completely. Once the fabric is completely dry, check area for any remaining residue or pigmentation. If any traces of the stain remain, repeat the cleaning procedure as necessary.
