What You’ll Need

  • Bucket
  • Clean cloths or sponges
  • Mild detergent or dishwashing soap
  • White vinegar or alcohol
  • Oxygen-based bleach
  • Baking soda
  • Protective gloves

Step 1: Fill a bucket with cold water.

Fill the bucket with cold water and add a mild detergent, like dishwashing soap. Gently stir the solution until it is slightly soapy.

Step 2: Soak the stained area.

Submerge the stained area of your swimwear in bucket. Let it soak for at least 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 3: Scrub the stained area.

Use a clean cloth or sponge and gently scrub the stained area. Rinse the cloth/sponge in the soapy water often as you scrub.

Step 4: Apply additional cleaner if needed.

If the stain persists, use a cloth soaked in white vinegar or alcohol and lightly dab the stain. Alternatively, you may also try a paste made from oxygen-based bleach and baking soda. Leave the paste on the stain for 5 to 10 minutes before scrubbing.

Step 5: Rinse and dry.

Once the stain is gone, rinse the swimwear with cold water and let it air dry.

Conclusion

With a few simple steps and common household items, you can easily get rid of paint stains on your swimwear. Now there's no need to worry about ruining your favorite bathing suit the next time you're doing arts and crafts.
