How to Clean Paint Stains from Spandex
- After you notice the paint stain, begin by removing any excess paint with a spoon or dull knife.
- Saturate stained area with a solution of two parts white vinegar and one part warm water.
- Scrub the stained area gently with a soft-bristled brush. Make sure to keep the scrubbing gentle so as not to damage the fabric.
- Rinse the area with cold water. If the paint stain is still visible, repeat steps 2-4 until stain is gone.
- If the stain persists, mix together a solution of OxyClean and cool water and apply it to the affected area. Allow the solution to sit for at least five minutes before rinsing.
- Check stained area again after rinsing. If stain is still present, repeat the process until it has been completely removed.
Once the stain has been removed, launder garment according to the fabric care instructions. Make sure to use a mild detergent in cold water. It’s best to avoid using bleach or harsh cleaners, as these can damage the fibers in your fabric.
