How To Easily Remove Paint Stains From Your Sleepwear
Accidents happen. Whether your little one spilled their watercolor paints while wearing their favorite pajamas or you got a bit sloppy while doing some home renovation, paint stains are an unfortunate reality. Thankfully, the following tricks can help you get rid of those pesky stains with ease.

Tools and Materials Needed
- Dish Soap
- White Vinegar or Baking Soda
- Soft Cloth
- Oxyclean Stain Remover
- Dryer Sheets
Method 1: Hot Water & Dishwashing Soap
- Soak the stained fabric in hot water for at least an hour. Make sure the water is as hot as clothing label suggests.
- Mix two tablespoons of dishwashing soap into a bowl of hot water. Submerge the stained garment and soak it for another hour.
- Rinse the garment in cold water. If you still see residual paint, repeat steps 1-3 with fresh hot water.
Method 2: White Vinegar or Baking Soda
- Mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Soak the stained area of the garment for an hour.
- Alternatively, mix one part baking soda with three parts water and soak the stained area for an hour.
- Rinse the garment in cold water. If you still see residual paint, repeat steps 1-3 with fresh solution.
Method 3: Oxyclean Stain Remover
- Mix one scoop of Oxyclean Stain Remover with one cup of hot water in a bowl. Soak the stained fabric in mixture for an hour.
- Rinse the garment in cold water. If you still see residual paint, repeat steps 1-3 with fresh solution.
Method 4: Dryer Sheets
- Mix two tablespoons of dishwashing soap with one cup of hot water in a bowl. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and dab it onto the stained area.
- Rub the stained area with a dryer sheet until the paint is gone. If necessary, use a new dryer sheet and repeat the process.
- Rinse the garment in cold water. If you still see residual paint, repeat steps 1-3 with fresh solution.
Tips
- Always read the clothing label before washing.
- Make sure to test any of the above methods on an inconspicuous area of the garment first.
- If the stain remains after washing, try putting garment in the dryer to loosen up any residue.
- If all else fails, take the garment to a professional dry cleaner.
