To start, use a soft cloth to carefully blot any excess paint from the surface of the silk dupioni fabric. Do not rub or scrub fabric, as this could cause tears or further damage to the material.
Mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with one teaspoon of liquid detergent in one litre of warm water. Make sure that the solution is completely blended before proceeding.
Dip a soft cloth in cleaning solution, and gently rub it against the stained area until the paint is visibly fading. Let the solution sit for several minutes, and then rinse the fabric with cold water.
If there are still remnants of the paint stain, it's time to apply hydrogen peroxide. Dip a cotton swab in the hydrogen peroxide and use it to dab stained area until the paint has completely disappeared. Again, be careful not to scrub or rub fabric too vigorously.
Once the paint has been completely removed, allow the silk dupioni fabric to air-dry away from direct sunlight. Do not wring or twist the fabric as this could cause wrinkles or further damage.
We hope this guide was helpful in removing paint stains from your silk dupioni fabric. With the right materials and techniques, you can restore delicate fabrics and extend their lifespan.
