If the paint stain is still wet, try to act quickly. Begin by scraping off as much of paint as you can. To do this, use a dull knife or a spoon. Be careful not to damage the fabric. Once you’ve removed as much of the paint as possible, rub some paint remover or turpentine onto the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water.
If paint stain has already dried, begin by rubbing a stain remover or detergent onto the fabric. Work the product into the stain, then let it sit for about five minutes. After that, put the garment in a bucket, basin, or sink filled with warm water. Let it soak for 15 minutes, then rinse. If there is still some paint left on the fabric, repeat the process.
To avoid paint stains on your sari, always wear protective clothing while painting. Wear an apron or other covering over your clothes to protect them. When working with paint, make sure you have plenty of ventilation. If you do happen to stain your sari with paint, act quickly to remove it before it sets.
