Start by gathering your supplies: a pale-colored sponge, a soft cloth, a few drops of mild fabric detergent, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. You will also need a bucket or sink for soaking the fabric.
Take the sponge and dip it in a solution of one tablespoon of fabric detergent and one cup of warm water. Gently rub the dampened sponge over the paint stain. Be careful not to rub too hard and damage the fabric. Allow the detergent to sit on the stain for about 10 minutes.
If paint stain is still visible, mix 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with 1 cup of warm water and fill a bucket or sink with the solution. Submerge the fabric in the solution and allow it to soak for about an hour. This should help to loosen up the paint stain.
Once fabric has soaked for an hour, add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the solution. Gently agitate the water with your hands. Soak fabric for an additional hour. The baking soda will act as a natural cleaning agent to help remove the paint stains.
When you are finished soaking the fabric, gently wring out the excess liquid and rinse it with cool water. Hang fabric outside or inside to air dry completely. Do not put the fabric in the dryer. Repeat the process if necessary until the paint stains have been successfully removed.
Before starting process of removing paint stains from Ralph Lauren fabric, it's important to consider a few things. First, only use light-colored sponges and cloths for cleaning, as dark-colored supplies might transfer dye onto the fabric. Second, check care tag on the fabric before cleaning so you don't damage it. And lastly, never use hot water as this could cause shrinkage.
