Materials Needed
- Clean cloths or paper towels
- White vinegar
- Olive oil
- Laundry detergent
Step by Step Instructions
- Using a clean cloth or paper towel, scrape up any excess paint. Do not rub as this will push the paint into the fabric.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl.
- Soak a clean cloth or paper towel in the mixture and dab gently over the paint stain.
- Once the stain has lightened, blot the area with a dry cloth.
- If the stain persists, try dabbing a small amount of olive oil onto the paint stain.
- Allow the olive oil to sit for a few minutes before blotting it away with a clean, dry cloth.
- Finally, use a laundry detergent specifically formulated for delicates to further remove any remaining paint stains. Follow the directions on bottle.
Tips for Avoiding Paint Stains on Your Pumps
- Always wear gloves when using paint.
- Wear protective clothing, like an apron, to cover exposed skin.
- If possible, work in an area with only tile or wood surfaces that can be easily mopped up if paint gets spilled.
- Keep a rag handy to wipe up paint spills quickly.
