When paint splatters onto your patio, pool deck, or driveway, it can be difficult to know how to remove those ugly stains from outdoor pavers or concrete surfaces. But don't despair - here's how to easily eliminate even the toughest paint stains.

Steps to Remove Paint Stains from Outdoor Pavers and Concrete

  1. Start by clearing away as much of the remaining paint as possible. Scrape away with a plastic or rubber spatula, being careful not to scratch the surface.
  2. Mix together one part trisodium phosphate (TSP) with four parts water. Opt for a heavy-duty version of TSP or an all purpose cleaner.
  3. Using a stiff brush, scrub the area with the TSP solution. For tougher paint stains, let the solution sit for 15 minutes before rinsing off.
  4. Rinse the area with a hose or a power washer. Make sure all the TSP is removed from the surface to prevent discoloration.
  5. If any paint stains remain after the initial TSP treatment, opt for a stronger cleaner like denatured alcohol or acetone.
  6. Apply to the affected area and let sit for a few minutes before scrubbing and rinsing off.

For tougher paint stains, you may need to repeat these steps or opt for an industrial solvent like lacquer thinner, which can be found at your local hardware store. Note that you should always use these solvents in a well-ventilated area and wear protective gloves when handling them.
