What You'll Need

  • Warm water
  • White vinegar (or rubbing alcohol)
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Old toothbrush
  • Soft cloth
  • Laundry detergent

Step 1: Soaking in Warm Water and White Vinegar

Start by filling a bowl or a sink with warm water and add 3 tablespoons of white vinegar. Submerge the garment in the solution and let it sit for 15 minutes. Make sure to move the fabric around every few minutes to help vinegar penetrate the inner layers of the fabric.

Step 2: Washing With Dishwashing Liquid

Using an old toothbrush, apply a few drops of dishwashing liquid directly onto the stain and scrub gently. Rinse the garment with warm water and repeat the procedure until the stain is gone.

Step 3: Washing in Laundry Detergent

Fill a sink with lukewarm water and add some laundry detergent. Gently press the garment into soapy water for a few minutes. Then, rinse it with clean water.

Step 4: Cleaning With Soft Cloth and Rubbing Alcohol

If the stain persists, try cleaning it with soft cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol and then rinse as before. For tough stains, you can also try a paste made of equal parts of dishwashing liquid and rubbing alcohol. Apply the paste to the spot and leave for 10 minutes. Then, rinse off and wash the garment accordingly.

Step 5: Dry the Garment

Once you’re done washing the garment, hang it up to air dry. Do not put nylon in dryer as heat can damage the fabric.
