The first step in removing paint from your lingerie is to try washing it with soap and water. Select a mild, non-abrasive soap and mix it with hot water. Then, submerge the stained area of your lingerie in mixture and let it soak for 15 minutes. Afterward, use a soft bristled scrub brush to gently scrub the stain until it has been removed.
If the soap and water method doesn’t work, you can try using rubbing alcohol. Start by pouring rubbing alcohol onto the affected area and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Take a cotton ball dipped in the alcohol and dab the stain until it is softened. Once the stain has been loosened, hand wash the fabric with a mild detergent and cool water. Rinse the garment thoroughly before drying.
If you’re still having trouble getting the stain out of your lingerie, you may need to break out a commercial stain remover. Test the product in an inconspicuous area of the fabric to make sure it won’t damage the material. If it’s safe, apply the stain remover directly to the stain and let it soak for at least 15 minutes. Then, rinse the fabric with cool water and air dry it.
To prevent paint stains from getting on your lingerie, always wear protective clothing when painting or working with any type of chemical. Additionally, if you do get paint on your garments, be sure to act quickly and treat the stain as soon as possible. The longer you leave the paint on your lingerie, the more difficult it will be to remove.
