Before starting the cleaning process, make sure you have all the necessary supplies. This includes: laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, white vinegar, a soft-bristled brush, and a damp cloth. Depending on how stubborn the stain is, you may also want to have rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide.
The first step is to blot the paint stain with a damp cloth to get rid of any excess liquid. Then, mix a tablespoon of laundry detergent with two tablespoons of dishwashing liquid in a bowl of warm water. Dip the cloth into mixture and carefully scrub the stain. Be gentle so you don’t damage the fabric. After the stain is removed, rinse the area with cold water and hang the jersey up to air dry.
The second method is to use white vinegar. Start by applying a generous amount of vinegar directly to the stain and let it sit for 1-2 minutes. Then, use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the stain until it starts to fade away. Rinse off the vinegar and use a damp cloth to get rid of any remaining residue. Hang jersey up to air dry.
For tougher stains, mix together rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide to create a powerful cleaning solution. Apply the mixture directly to the stain and let it sit for 1-2 minutes. Then, use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the stain away. Rinse the area with cold water and hang the jersey up to air dry.
Cleaning paint stains from jersey and other fabrics doesn't have to be a stressful chore. With a few simple supplies and a bit of elbow grease, you can easily remove these pesky stains and restore your garments to their former glory.
