Step 1: Blot Out the Excess Paint

Begin by using a white cloth or sponge to blot out as much of the excess paint as you can. Be careful not to rub at the stain, as this will just spread it further.

Step 2: Use a Spot Remover

Once you’ve blotted out as much of paint as possible, apply an appropriate spot remover to the stained area. If you don’t have a special spot remover, you can also try using rubbing alcohol or a mixture of vinegar and water.

Step 3: Wait for the Spot Remover to Take Effect

Once you’ve applied spot remover, let it sit for a few minutes or even overnight. This will give product time to break down and dissolve the paint particles.

Step 4: Rinse off the Spot Remover

When the spot remover has had a chance to do its job, rinse it away with cool water. The excess paint should wash away with the spot remover.

Step 5: Use Detergent

If the spot remover didn’t completely get rid of paint stain, try lathering the stained area with a mild laundry detergent. Let the detergent sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it away.

Step 6: Repeat if Necessary

If the stain is still there after using spot remover and detergent, repeat steps 2-5 until the stain is completely gone.

Step 7: Allow Jacket to Dry Completely

Once the stain is completely gone, hang or lay your jacket flat to air dry completely before wearing it again.
