Goggles are an essential piece of protective gear when it comes to painting, but it’s inevitable that paint will get on them in the process. Whether you’re sprucing up your home, refinishing furniture, or simply giving a room a makeover, learning how to clean paint off your goggles quickly and thoroughly is an essential skill.
For mild paint stains, start by washing the goggles with mild soap and warm water. Take a soft cloth or sponge and gently scrub away any paint residue. Once you’ve finished, dry the goggles off carefully with a clean towel. If any stubborn stains remain after this, you can use a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol to remove them.
If you’ve left the paint to dry on the surface of your goggles, you’ll need to use a stronger approach to remove it. Start by using a glass cleaner to soften the paint before lightly scratching it away. You can also try using a plastic razor blade to remove the paint. Be careful not to scratch the surface of the goggles, as this could damage them.
Of course, it’s always best to prevent paint splatters from getting on your goggles in first place. A few simple steps can go a long way towards keeping your goggles safe. Start by covering them in plastic wrap or painter’s tape. If you don’t have any tape on hand, you can also use painter’s paper to wrap them up. Make sure to cover all of the edges of the goggles and wear a headband or hat to keep them secure.
