Step 1: Identifying Type of Paint

The first step is to understand what kind of paint you're dealing with. Latex paint and oil-based paint are two of the most common types of paints found on clothing. Depending on what kind it is, each type of paint will require a different approach to cleaning.

Step 2: Scraping Away the Excess Paint

Once you've identified the type of paint, you can start to remove any excess paint from the fabric. Use a dull knife or scrub brush to gently scrape away as much of paint as possible. Be sure not to press too hard as you might damage the fabric.

Step 3: Applying a Cleaner

Next, you'll want to apply a cleaner to the paint stain. For late paint, use a solvent-based cleaner such as rubbing alcohol or acetone. For oil-based paint, use a mixture of dish soap and warm water. Gently dab the area with a cloth to apply the solution.

Step 4: Let the Cleaner Sit

Once the cleaner has been applied, let it sit for 15-20 minutes. This will give it time to break down the paint and make it easier to remove. After the allotted time is up, use a damp cloth to wipe the area gently.

Step 5: Rinse with Water and Dry

Finally, rinse the area with cold water and pat dry with a clean cloth. You may need to repeat above steps if the paint stain doesn't come out completely. Once the stain is gone, you can wash your Forever 21 garment in the washing machine according to the guidelines on the label.
