Removing Paint Stains from Drapes and Curtains

If you’ve recently discovered paint stains on your drapes or curtains, don’t panic – it’s possible to remove them without damaging the fabric. Here are the steps you’ll need to take:

  • Gently scrape away as much of excess paint as possible using a butter knife, taking care not to damage the fabric.
  • Prepare a mixture of warm water and liquid dish detergent, then dip a soft, clean cloth into it.
  • Gently dab the stained area with the cloth until the paint starts to come off.
  • Rinse the area with cold water and let it air dry.
  • If needed, repeat the process with a few drops of vinegar added to detergent solution.

Once all the paint has been removed, you can launder the drapes or curtains in the washing machine as directed by the care tag.
