Instructions
- Scrape away any excess or dried paint from collared shirt using a butter knife.
- Soak the stain in cold water for 15 minutes.
- Add a few squirts of liquid laundry detergent to the stained area, and rub the fabric together to work the detergent into the fibers as much as possible.
- Soak the fabric in the detergent mixture for an additional 10 minutes.
- Rinse the clothing with cool water until all soap is gone.
- Repeat soaking and rinsing steps if necessary to remove stubborn paint spots.
- Once all the paint is removed, machine wash the shirt on a normal cycle with like colors.
Tips and Warnings
- Be sure to check the fabric tag before using any cleaners, as some fabrics may be too delicate for harsher stain removal methods.
- Do not use hot water to clean paint stains, as this may cause the stain to set.
