Step 1: Determine What Material Your Bag Is Made Of

Coach bags come in several materials, including leather, fabric, and suede. Knowing what material your bag is made of will determine the best cleaning method for removing the paint.

Step 2: Find the Right Cleaning Solutions

The type of cleaning solution you use to remove the paint from your bag depends on the material it’s made of. Here are some cleaning solutions you can use depending on the material of your bag:

  • Leather – Use a solvent-based leather cleaner to remove paint from leather Coach bags.
  • Fabric – For fabric bags, try using a mild detergent if the paint is still wet. If the paint is already dry, you may need to use alcohol-based cleaners.
  • Suede – For suede bags, use a suede cleaning solution or a suede brush to gently scrub the paint off.

Step 3: Gently Clean Stain

Once you’ve chosen the right cleaning solution, it’s time to get to work. Start by blotting the paint stain with a damp cloth. Don’t rub or scrub the paint – this might spread the stain further. If the paint is still wet, blot it until it’s dry. Then, apply cleaning solution of your choice directly onto the stain. Gently massage the cleaner into the fabric, taking care not to rub too hard. To avoid damaging the bag, test the cleaning solution on a small, hidden area first to check that it won’t damage the material.

Step 4: Blot the Area Dry

After you’ve applied the cleaner, let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then, take a damp cloth and gently blot the cleaned area. Make sure to blot rather than rub fabric to avoid damaging it. Once you’ve removed majority of cleaner, you can use a dry towel to absorb any remaining moisture.

Step 5: Repeat as Needed

Repeat Steps 2 to 4 until paint stain is completely gone. Keep in mind that depending on the type of paint, it may take a few tries to completely remove it. If the paint still won’t budge after several attempts, it’s best to take your bag to a professional cleaner.
