Chiffon georgette is a beautiful and delicate fabric that can be tricky to clean. Paint stains are especially difficult to remove due to the fabric’s light and airy nature. But don’t fret, here are some steps you need to follow to get stubborn paint stains out of your chiffon georgette.
Take a white cloth and gently blot the stained area until stain transfers onto the cloth. Do not rub or scrub stain as this can cause the stain to spread further onto the fabric or even damage fibers.
Use a handheld vacuum cleaner (or a regular vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment) to vacuum up any remaining pieces of paint. Make sure to move the vacuum in different angles and directions in order to ensure all the paint is removed.
If the paint is still present, apply a detergent or solvent to the stain. Make sure to test a small area of the fabric first before applying detergent or solvent to the entire stain. Once you have tested the product, let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse with cold water.
Once the detergent or solvent has been applied, rinse the area with cold water. This will help to remove any residue that might be left behind from detergent or solvent. Repeat this step until the water runs clear.
Once the area is rinsed, let it air dry. Do not use a blow dryer or any other heat source to dry the fabric as this can cause the stain to set in further. Allow fabric to air dry for at least 24 hours before wearing or using.
These steps should remove most paint stains from your chiffon georgette, however, if the stain is still present, you may want to take it to a professional cleaner.
