Step 1: Assemble Your Supplies

  • Mild laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Lint-free cloth
  • Container
  • Paper towels

Step 2: Test Before You Begin

On the underside of the brocade fabric, apply a few drops of mild laundry detergent or white vinegar and lukewarm water. Wait a few minutes and then blot it with a lint-free cloth. Check to see if the stain has been removed.

Step 3: Treat the Stain

If the test run was successful, move to treating the actual stain. To do this, create a mixture of one teaspoon of mild laundry detergent and one-fourth cup of white vinegar in a container. Apply some of the mixture directly on the paint stain. Gently rub the area and wait for five to ten minutes. Blot the area with a lint-free cloth and then rinse with cold water. Air-dry the fabric.

If the stain persists, repeat steps two and three until you’ve successfully removed the paint from the brocade.
