Method 1: Acetone

Acetone is a powerful solvent capable of breaking through the bonds between paint molecules and fabrics. To use acetone on a paint stain, apply a small amount of chemical with a cotton swab on the affected area. Be sure to observe the fabric’s reaction and avoid using too much acetone. You can then rinse away acetone and check whether the paint has been removed. If not, you may need to repeat process several times.

Method 2: Detergent and Hydrogen Peroxide

The combination of a detergent and hydrogen peroxide is an effective way to break down paint and lift it away from fibers. Simply mix together a few drops of a mild detergent and hydrogen peroxide. Apply the mixture to the paint spot and let it sit for a few minutes. Then use a soft-bristle brush to gently scrub away the paint. Rinse away the remaining residue and repeat the process if needed.

Method 3: Goo Gone

Goo Gone is a commercial product that is specifically designed to tackle tough stains. To use this method, apply a few drops of Goo Gone on affected area and rub it in using a soft-bristle brush. Let the product sit for a few minutes and then wipe away any excess liquid with a damp cloth. Check the stain to ensure it has been removed, and repeat process if needed.

Method 4: Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is also an effective solvent that can help remove paint stains from belts. Dip a cotton swab or cloth in rubbing alcohol and dab the stain. Allow the alcohol to sit for a few minutes before wiping the stain away. Be sure to blot the area instead of rubbing it in so that the alcohol does not spread the paint stain. Check to see if the stain has been removed and repeat the process if necessary.
