Removing Paint Stains with Detergent

One easy way to clean paint off of Adidas shoes is to mix a mild detergent with warm water. Use a soft cloth or toothbrush to gently scrub the stain. Afterward, rinse the shoes with cold water and let them air dry. For particularly stubborn paint spots, add baking soda to the detergent solution.

Using Rubbing Alcohol

Another option is to use rubbing alcohol. Start by blotting stain with a damp rag. Then saturate the rag with rubbing alcohol and dab it onto the stain. When the area is saturated, let it sit for a few minutes before blotting with a rag dipped in warm water. As with the first method, let shoes air dry after rinsing with cold water.

Paint Remover Solutions

Professional paint remover solutions are specially designed formulas that are effective for removing paint from fabrics. Before using, check the product label to make sure it’s suitable for material that your Adidas shoes are made from. Follow the instructions and test a small area first before applying to whole stain. Once finished, rinse the shoes with cold water and let them air dry.

Cleaning Tips

  • Do not use hard-bristled brushes – soft cloths or toothbrushes are best.
  • Avoid scrubbing the paint spot too vigorously – this could damage the material.
  • Never put Adidas shoes in the dryer, oven, or washing machine as this may cause discoloration.
