Removing Wet Paint Stains from A&F Clothes

If you happen to spill wet paint on your A&F outfit, the most important thing to remember is to act quickly before paint has a chance to dry. Start by gently blotting up as much of excess paint with a clean, absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this will only spread the paint more and make the stain worse. Once you’ve absorbed as much of paint as possible, try treating the spot with a pre-wash stain remover.

Next, wash the stained garment in cold water with a mild detergent, preferably one that’s designated for use on delicate fabric. If possible, allow the garment to air dry instead of using a dryer. This will prevent the stain from setting further into fabric.

Getting Rid of Dried Paint Stains on A&F Clothes

If you find a dried paint stain on your Abercrombie and Fitch garment, the process will be slightly different. Carefully scrape away any excess paint with a butter knife. Again, rubbing or scrubbing the stain is not recommended. Blot or dab remaining paint stain with a mixture of warm water and detergent. Rinse and repeat until the stain fades away.

Alternatively, you may wish to treat the stain with nail polish remover. Just pour a small amount of it onto a clean cloth or cotton ball and then dab it onto stained area. Take care not to rub the fabric too harshly, as this may damage the material. After applying the nail polish remover, rinse the garment with cold water and then proceed with laundering as usual.

Treating Stubborn Paint Stains

For extremely stubborn paint stains, an enzyme-based detergent may be needed. Soak or pretreat item with detergent before washing it in lukewarm water. Make sure to follow the instructions on the detergent bottle for best results. As a last resort, you can also try applying a concentrated laundry detergent directly onto the stain, such as Shout. Allow the detergent to sit on the garment for 30 minutes before laundering.

Final Thoughts

With these tips, anyone should be able to easily remove paint stains from their Abercrombie and Fitch clothes. The key is to act fast while paint is still wet or at least relatively fresh, and to never rub or scrub the stain.
