Step 1: Pretreat the Stain

Start by pretreating the stained area with a dab of liquid laundry detergent. Rub the detergent gently into the fabric, creating a lather. Let the detergent soak in for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

Step 2: Spot Clean the Stain

Once you have washed the detergent off, it’s time to spot clean the stain with a mild stain remover. Carefully apply stain remover to the affected area, making sure to cover the entire stain. Allow the remover to sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

If the stain is still present after spot cleaning, repeat steps one and two until oil pastel stain is fully removed. Be sure to let stain remover and detergent sit for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off. This will give the solutions time to do their job and lift the stain from the fabric.

Step 4: Launder Dress

Once the stain is gone, it’s time to launder the wrap dress. Follow instructions on the tag (referring to temperature and cycle), and add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the wash cycle. This will help to remove any residual detergent and stain remover that may be left behind.

Step 5: Dry and Wear!

After laundering, dry dress according to the care instructions on the tag. Hang dress up to air dry or use a low heat setting on the dryer. Once the dress is completely dry, you’re ready to wear it – no pesky oil pastel stains in sight!
