Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step is to blot the stain with a clean cloth. Begin by placing the cloth over stained area and press down firmly. Repeat this, using a clean section of the cloth as oil pastel can leave quite a lot of residue. Be sure not to rub, just press cloth firmly against stain.

Step 2: Moisten With Water and Detergent

Next is to moisten stained area with a mixture of water and detergent. Use warm water and a liquid, non-abrasive detergent and mix together until combined into a thin paste. Then, take a cloth and dip it into the mixture before dabbing onto the affected area. Be sure to continue blotting the area with the cloth until the stain has disappeared.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

Finally, rinse the stained area using cold water and then dry it off with a towel. Make sure the stained area is completely dry before allowing it to air dry.
