What You Need:

  • Dishwashing liquid
  • White vinegar
  • Old toothbrush or soft brush
  • Silicone stain remover
  • Clean cloths

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Make sure the t-shirt is completely dry before you begin removing the oil pastel stain. If it’s still wet, rinse it thoroughly with cold water.
  2. Mix a solution of equal parts dishwashing liquid and white vinegar in a bowl.
  3. Gently scrub the stain with an old toothbrush or soft brush dipped in the solution. Work slowly and gently to avoid spreading the stain.
  4. Rinse the affected area with cold water.
  5. If the stain remains, apply a silicone stain remover designed for fabrics.
  6. Using clean cloths, dab the stain with the remover until its gone.
  7. Rinse the affected area with cold water once again.

Tips:

  • Cleaning as soon as possible after staining is key. The longer the stain sits, the more difficult it will be to remove.
  • Test any stain remover on an inconspicuous area of the clothing item to make sure it won’t damage the fabric.
  • If the stain remains after you’ve tried cleaning it, you may need to re-rinse the garment multiple times. Try repeating the stain removal process.
