First, try to scrape off as much of the oil pastel as possible with a dull knife, preferably one made of plastic. This will make the stain easier to tackle. Then, rinse the garment in cool water. If the stain is still highly visible, apply a mild detergent directly to the oil pastel. Leave this solution to soak for 5-10 minutes.
If above method does not work, try using a solution to lift the rest of the stain. Create a mixture of mild detergent, water, and a small amount of white or cider vinegar. Soak the stained area for at least 10 minutes. You can also dampen the fabric first, before applying the solution.
At this point, the stain should be lifted. If the stain persists, gently brush it with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Wash the item according to the care instructions on label, and if the stain is still there, repeat the process. After all attempts, check for any remaining oil pastel residue. If it appears, continue the steps until it is gone.
With these tips, you will be able to remove oil pastel stains from Tommy Hilfiger garments easily and effectively. There’s no need to worry about ruining your favorite clothes anymore!
