What You Will Need

  • Dishwashing Liquid
  • Clean Towel
  • Paper towel
  • Laundry detergent
  • Bucket with warm water

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Using a dry paper towel or a clean cloth, gently blot the stain on the slipper to remove as much of the oil pastel as possible. Be careful not to rub the stain as this may spread pigment further.

Step 2: Make a Soapy Mixture

Fill a bucket with lukewarm water and mix in a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Stir the mixture together until it is frothy.

Step 3: Soak the Slipper

Dip the slipper into the soapy water and let it soak for about 10 minutes before gently scrubbing with a clean cloth. If the stain persists, you can use a toothbrush to work on it.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the slipper with warm water to remove all the soap and pat it dry using a clean towel. Avoid using hot water as this may cause stain to set even further.

Step 5: Use Laundry Detergent

If the stain is still visible, pour a teaspoon of laundry detergent directly onto it. Let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing with a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow the slipper to air dry completely.
