How to Remove Oil Pastel Stains From Your Sari
- Gently scrape off as much of the stain as you can with a plastic knife. Be careful not to spread the stain further and cause more damage.
- If some of the stain is still visible, dampen a cloth and carefully dab the stain. This should help remove some of the excess oils.
- Apply a small amount of dry cleaning solvent or mild detergent directly to stain. Gently massage the substance into the stain and blot away excess with a soft cloth.
- Rinse the area with cold water and repeat the process if necessary. Once you’ve removed as much of the stain as possible, let the area air dry.
Preventing Future Oil Pastel Stains
- Always use a protective sheet or piece of paper when using oil pastels to prevent any stains from getting onto your garment.
- Choose oil pastels that are non-toxic and safe for fabric so that if the colors do bleed it won’t cause permanent damage.
- Keep a stain remover handy so that you can easily clean up any spills immediately.
