The first step is to blot the stain as much as possible. Use a paper towel or old rag to remove any excess oil. Be careful not to rub stain too hard, as this could spread it further and make it harder to remove.
Next, apply a small amount of detergent to the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then, use a soft cloth or sponge to gently scrub the detergent into the stain. Rinse the area with warm water and then blot dry with a paper towel.
If the stain persists, it's time to spot treat it. Make a paste with equal parts liquid laundry detergent and baking soda. Apply it to the stain and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. Then, rinse the area with warm water and blot dry with a paper towel.
By following these steps, you will be able to successfully remove oil pastel stains from your raincoat. Don't forget to check the care label for any additional cleaning instructions.
