Removing Fresh Oil Pastel Stains

The first step is to gently scrape off as much of the oil pastel as possible from the fabric of the shoe with a blunt knife or spoon. Do this carefully, as it’s easy to damage the fabric if you press too hard.

Once you’ve scraped off as much of the oil pastel as you can, dab stain with a cloth dampened with water and a mild detergent solution. Allow the detergent to work its magic for a few minutes and then rinse the area with warm water.

Removing Older Oil Pastel Stains

If the oil pastel stain has been there for some time and appears to be set-in, you’ll need to use an enzymatic cleaner such as pineapple or papaya juice. First, apply a generous amount of juice to the stain and rub it in with a soft brush.

Allow juice to work for fifteen minutes before rinsing it away with warm water. To finish the process, add a few drops of vinegar to a bowl of warm water and soak the affected area for ten minutes. Rinse the fabric with clean water and your Puma shoe should be stain-free.
