Step 1: Blot The Stain

Take a cloth or sponge and gently blot the stain. Be sure not to scrub or rub it in further. Blotting helps remove any excess oil. You can also use a paper towel if necessary.

Step 2: Apply Dish Detergent

Put a small amount of liquid dish detergent on the stain and use your fingers to work it into the fabric. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. This will help break down the oil.

Step 3: Rinse With Cold Water

Rinse the stain under cold water. Be sure to rinse thoroughly until the suds from the dish soap have been completely removed. This step helps remove any remaining oil from the fabric.

Step 4: Apply Rubbing Alcohol

Rub a small amount of rubbing alcohol into the stained area. This helps break down the oil even more. Let the rubbing alcohol sit for a few minutes before rinsing off with cold water.

Step 5: Wash In The Washing Machine

To finish the job, put your pencil skirt in the washer and use a regular detergent. Wash on the lowest setting with cold water. Check the stain when the cycle is finished to make sure it's gone. If the stain is still visible, repeat Steps 1-4 before washing again.

Your pencil skirt should now be free from oil pastel stains and ready to wear!
