Oil paint stains on the surface of jeans can be an annoying and stubborn thing to remove. The best way to go about this is to attack stain as soon as possible before it has a chance to set in. Here are few tools you need and steps you should follow when trying to remove oil paint stains from your Levi’s jeans.

What You Need:

  • Cold water
  • A mild dishwashing detergent
  • An old toothbrush
  • Isopropyl Alcohol
  • Paper towels

Instructions:

  1. Flush the stain with cold water for several minutes making sure that the water runs from the back to the front of the stain.
  2. Apply a few drops of the mild dishwashing detergent to the affected area and rub it gently with an old toothbrush. Let it sit for a few minutes before continuing.
  3. Rinse the detergent out of the fabric with cold water, and then blot the area with paper towels.
  4. If the stain is still there, wet a cloth with Isopropyl Alcohol and dab the stained area lightly, working outward from the center.
  5. Blot the area dry with paper towels.
  6. Repeat Steps 4 & 5 until stain is gone.

Once you’re finished, you should immediately throw the jeans in the laundry. No matter how much you try, some of color may remain, so regular washing should keep it under control.
