You Will Need

  • A mild liquid laundry detergent
  • Paper towels or a clean, dry cloth
  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda

Step 1: Pretreat

For small oil pastel stains, start by pretreating area with some liquid detergent. Apply it directly to stain and leave it to sit for about 10 minutes. Then, using the paper towels or clean cloth, blot the area until the soap has been fully absorbed.

Step 2: Vinegar and Baking Soda

If the stain is still visible, try combining vinegar and baking soda. Start by applying the vinegar to the affected area, making sure it is completely covered. Then, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the vinegar and let it sit for around 10 minutes.

Step 3: Wash

Using the same liquid detergent you used in step 1, put the garment through a normal washing cycle. Once complete, remove it from the machine, check the stain and repeat steps 1-3 if needed.
