Using a small brush or spoon, gently scrape away any excess color from the stained area. This will help to minimize the amount of staining to the fabric.
In a bowl, mix dish soap, white vinegar, and water to create a cleaning solution. Stir solution until it has a foamy consistency. You may need to adjust the ratio of ingredients according to severity of stain.
Apply the cleaning solution to the stained area with a cotton pad. Be sure to work away from the center of the stain to keep it from spreading. Allow solution to sit for a few minutes before stirring gently to loosen any remaining color.
Using a clean cloth, rinse out the stained area with cold water. Make sure to rinse until all of the cleaning solution is removed from the fabric.
Pour a small amount of soap onto the stained area and work it into a lather with a brush. Let sit for a few minutes before rinsing the area out with cold water. Repeat this step if needed.
Create a spot cleaning solution with water, dish soap, and white vinegar. Fill a spray bottle with solution and spray the stained area directly. Be sure to work away from the stain to keep it from spreading. Allow solution to sit for a few minutes before dabbing at it with a clean cloth.
If the stain remains after spot cleaning, you can either wash the fabric in the machine or by hand. For a machine wash, use a mild detergent and cold water, and for hand washing, use a gentle soap and warm water. Rinse the fabric thoroughly before allowing it to air dry.
