Oil pastels are a popular art medium that often used by both amateur and professional artists. The bright, vibrant colors they produce make them a great choice for adding vivid hues to any artwork. Unfortunately, they can also leave behind incredibly stubborn stains.
Hermes is a special industrial-strength cleaner that is designed specifically to remove oil pastel stains. It is a bio-degradable cleaner, so it is safe for use even in eco-friendly or organic settings. It is also non-abrasive and gentle, so it won’t damage surfaces like wood, fabric, or paint.
Before applying Hermes, you should always test out a small area of material to ensure that it won't harm the surface. A good way to do this is to apply a tiny drop of the cleaner and then dab it with a damp cloth. If the cloth does not show any discoloration or smudging, then the rest of the surface is likely safe for cleaning.
When cleaning stain, apply a small amount of Hermes to the stained area and then gently scrub with a soft rag or sponge. Allow the cleaner to sit on the stain for around 5 minutes before wiping away. Rinse off with clean, warm water and then pat dry with a clean cloth. The stain should be gone!
