What You Need

  • Gentle detergent
  • Vinegar
  • Absorbent cloth
  • White eraser

Steps to Clean Oil Pastel Stains

  1. Pre-treat the stained area with a gentle detergent. Soak a clean cloth in the solution and dab it onto headband. Do not scrub or rub stain as it could spread.
  2. Leave the detergent in for 15 minutes, then rinse it off with warm or cold water.
  3. If the stain persists, mix one part white vinegar to two parts water and dab it on the stained area. Leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse off thoroughly.
  4. If the stain still remains, try using a soft rubber eraser, such as a white eraser, to gently rub the stained area. Work in gentle circular motions until stain has been removed.

Tips & Tricks

  • Always use lukewarm or cold water when cleaning headbands as hot water can cause the fabric to shrink.
  • To minimize the spread of stains, take extra care to dab the affected area. Do not rub or scrub.
  • Before trying any cleaning methods, always test them on a small, inconspicuous part of the headband first to ensure there is no damage or discoloration.
